Summer 2018 Classes

Wednesdays: The Meaning of Marriage
Led by Beth and David Robinson
7/11-8/15; 6:00-7:30, Room 619
Modern culture has developed many misconceptions about marriage which causes us to devalue marriage. In this six-week study, Timothy and Kathy Keller draw a profound portrait of marriage from Scripture that neither idealizes nor rejects the institution but points us back to the relationship between God and humanity. This study is for anyone from singles to couples considering marriage to those who have been married recently or for a long time. Childcare is provided.
Bible Studies
Mondays: Broken and Blessed
Led by LeeAnn Hook and Leslie Luke
6/11-7/16; 6:30-7:30, Room 619
Broken and Blessed is a six-week study that traces the story of the Genesis family from Adam and Eve through the generations to Joseph, bringing blessing from brokenness. We will see that despite both good and bad traits that were passed down, God worked for good in every generation. This study shows us how God can use our own imperfect families to bring blessing in a hurting and broken world. A women’s study. Childcare is provided upon request.

Tuesdays: When Life is Hard
Led by Tonja Faulkenberry and Susan Fowler
6/12-7/24; 12:00-1:30, Room 619
This six-week study is anchored in scripture as it examines suffering, trials, and God’s purpose throughout them. You will also learn how to tap into the spiritual resources God provides to help face your trials. If you are a child of God, you can be sure that trials are coming your way. But your hardships are raw materials in the hands of a mighty God who wants to work in your life for your good. You can trust Him to burn away the impurities and to bring you forth as gold. A women’s study. Childcare is not provided.

Wednesdays: The Gospel of Matthew
Led by Gryff Carosiello
Starts: 6/6-7/25; 6:00-7:30 PM, Room 618
Many people today misunderstand Jesus and who is he truly is. Jesus isn’t just somebody with good ideas or somebody who will tell us how to establish a better relationship with God. He is more than that. As we study the gospel of Matthew for eight weeks, we will look for a Jesus we can trust with every aspect of our lives and a Jesus who is Messiah, Teacher and Son of Man. Childcare is provided.
