What kind of classes are available and when?
It is our hope and desire to offer a variety of opportunities, in addition to Sunday School, for furthering discipleship and spiritual formation for all persons at Covenant. Some studies are based on a particular book or books of the Bible while other studies are more thematically arranged—yet rely heavily on our primary source of Scripture as well. Studies are offered on a variety of days and times in an attempt to make opportunities available that compliment the ongoing activities of the church calendar. The Number of class sessions varies. Some classes are short run (6-10 weeks) while others are a larger time commitment of as much as 34 weeks. Beginning class dates vary.
Who will teach these classes?
Our Pastors and trained Lay Leaders and others who have expertise in specific areas will facilitate classes. Course titles and descriptions, teachers’ names appear in this brochure.May I take more than one class at one time?You may take any classes that interest you. These classes are intended to enrich your Sunday School learning, not replace it. You may take any level or type of class at any time. Some courses may have a prerequisite. You choose studies that enhance your relationship and deepen your spiritual walk with Christ.
Do we receive credits, certificates or diplomas?
Our goal is to insure a variety of Biblically based studies to minister to all levels of spiritual maturity in our church and community. Using the title “Academy” is to indicate the importance of nurturing our souls with a Biblical/spiritual education. And it is one education that we never graduate from; it is always a continuing education. (Some classes, such as the Disciple’s series, award a certificate and/or pin for completing the 30-34 week courses.)
