The 2017-2018 Moms Shepherding Moms program was a remarkable success. Twenty moms and ten shepherds completed our first year!
Moms Shepherding Moms is a mentoring program that establishes small groups of 5-7 moms (with young children of similar ages), matched with 2 experienced moms, who will help shepherd you through this growing journey called “motherhood.”
While you will be blessed and grow spiritually, this program will also provide you with the opportunity to meet and form friendships with other moms experiencing the same things you are!
How it works:
The program runs concurrent with the school year (September through May). Once a month everyone will meet in the Covenant Fellowship Hall for dinner, fellowship and a mom relevant Bible study and discussion. Monthly meetings will be on the 2nd Wednesday evening of the month from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Childcare will be provided, if needed. Every mom will be included in a small group with two shepherding moms. Each small group will choose at least one other time to get together each month based on what works for them. (This could be for lunch, coffee, play dates, etc.) These times will be for sharing, learning, mentoring and growing.
What participating moms are saying about the program:
“Being a mom can be overwhelming at times and this program is helpful for moms to see others going through the same thing while also giving tools to help you raise your children.” — Sarah White
“It’s by far the most impactful church group I’ve ever been a part of.” — Melissa Martin
“I think it helps moms navigate a little better through the stages of motherhood.” — Katie Nading
“I love the ideas shared about ways to teach my children daily about God. I also loved hearing my group leaders share that parenting isn’t always perfect and its never too late to put principles into practice. Sometimes, a mom needs reassurance.” — Mary Meredith
